This is the second self portrait I’ve ever done, but the first one using oil paints. The first self portrait I painted was using acrylic medium years ago. I do like to paint with acrylic, but I love oil more. Being that this was my second self portrait I wanted to do something different with the coloring. So, I played around with photoshop and came up with a palette of colors I liked for the painting. It took me about two, 3 hours sessions to complete it. It was a blast to paint and the first painting I painted in non-traditional colors. I enjoyed using the bright colors so much that they inspired me to continue using that technique in a series of other paintings. I have to say for my second ever portrait painting, I really like how it turned out. Below is the picture I used as a resource.
