Tree Sunset
I’m right handed, many, many years ago I injured my right forearm. I honestly don’t remember how I injured it, because it was so long ago. I was unable to hold anything with my right hand, because the muscles in my forearm were so inflamed. I needed to do an art project for a class I was taking, so I had to do it all using my left hand. Which was very scary, because my lefthand hand writing looks like a 5 year olds. I chose to use soft pastels, because I figured they would be the most forgiving with mistakes. But, to my surprise I didn’t make any. The drawing turned out just the way I had envisioned it. It wasn’t easy making this drawing with my left hand, but it was very rewarding. Whenever I look at this drawing, I’m reminded of doing things that maybe scary and unfamiliar, but are worth it in the end. Just as the sun creates beautiful colors as it sets, so can we if we only let ourselves be as courageous.
