The holidays are filled with desserts, candies and treats.  They hid around every corner.  It seems that every gathering has a bunch of sugary indulgences that offer a delicious taste of the holidays.  Which makes it hard to stay on track during the holiday season.  One of the holiday candies that I have a hard time saying no to is a Turtle.

The crunchy pecan...the creamy caramel...the melt in your mouth chocolate...oh my, I need to stop.  Let’s get back on track here.  I was referring to keeping with a healthy diet, meaning indulging in treats sparingly and having a bunch of delicious smoothies that taste like treats but are actually healthy.  One that is on my list every week is my Turtle Smoothie.

This smoothie hits the spot everytime.  When I’m craving chocolate, or anything sweet really.  What makes this smoothie healthy is the high quality protein I use.  Shaklee’s Life Energizing Shake has a plethora of healthy benefits.  It is loaded with fiber and high quality organic protein.  It also has a huge list of vitamins and minerals that the body needs in order to maintain optimal health.  Of course there are plenty more benefits to the protein, but you can check it out for yourself.
