Blue-Green Rory

Blue-Green Rory

This was my first animal portrait.  The first of four small paintings in a collection.  I decided to not use the true natural colors, because I want the viewer to look at the painting of Rory in a new way.  With the emotion that Rory was feeling at the time the original picture was taken.  She was not happy, which is extremely obvious.  She had just had a bath and she’s not a fan of baths.  Her pouty, sad little face has such description of disappointment.  Of, course it was all too fitting to use a blue color palette to really bring out the sadness and despair she was feeling at the time of the picture.  Oh, sweet little Rory, at least you were nice and clean.

My second piece of this series is my Purple Rory, my third piece is my Green-Pink Rory, my forth piece is my Multi Colored Rory.

These paintings are small, but make a big impact with their unique colors and poses of Rory.  They are great individually, but truly feel complete when together.
