This smoothie really is nice and tart. It is definitely sweet and refreshing. But, like the title states, it is tart. I like tart things. They add variety to our taste buds. Because, by adding in blackberries instead of strawberries like in my Sweet Strawberry-Lemonade Smoothie, it makes this smoothie the right amount of tart and sweet.
This smoothie is even lower in calories than my Sweet Strawberry-Lemonade Smoothie, because blackberries are simply lower in calories per cup. They are very healthy for you, because they are loaded with vitamins, minerals, fiber, protein and healthy carbohydrates.
By adding them to the high quality Shaklee protein powder, you have a powerful smoothie that will fuel your summertime adventures. Nothing says summer like a delicious smoothie that is crafted after the most popular summer drink, lemonade. When, you want to try a tart version, whip this up.
Squeeze the juice from the lemon(s) in a small glass, to catch any seeds that might come out. If any seeds come out, just take a spoon and scoop them out. You don’t want to fish lemon seeds out of a blender, it’s not fun. And you don't want to accidentally eat one, because they are bitter. Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Makes one serving. Enjoy!
