This smoothie is probably the most hydrating smoothie I have yet to make, because of the watermelon and cucumber. Melons, more specifically watermelons, are high water containing fruits. Cucumbers are also high water containing vegetables. The combo is fantastic, tasting and hydrating.
Even, though the smoothie uses a whole cup of watermelon, it is not high in sugar or carbohydrates, because watermelon is not high either. By adding half a cucumber to the smoothie it ups the fiber too. Which, cuts down on the carbohydrates.
This smoothie reminds me of a slushy, because of the watermelon taste. It is very refreshing, after a hot day or a tough workout, when the body’s muscles are in need of repair from high quality protein and complex carbohydrates. So, when you are in need of a very hydrating thirst quenching smoothie, try my Creamy Cucumber Watermelon Smoothie.
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Makes one serving. Enjoy!
