Banana bread is great all year around. It’s moist, sweet and makes a great tasting breakfast or snack. However, the typical banana bread recipe has lots of sugar, which ups the carbohydrates. They are usually prepared with butter or some non-healthy oil, making it a not so healthy option.
Luckily, I love to take tasty not so healthy recipes and make them into a healthier version, while keeping them just as tasty if not even tastier, often in the form of a smoothie. Smoothies are just so easy and portable. They are filling and fast to whip up.
I love banana bread, but I’m not a fan of the lack of fiber and protein. Making a healthy smoothie version of this delicious bread is great. Because, now I can enjoy the sweet and satisfying taste of banana bread, with over 10 grams of fiber and almost 19 grams of protein. I guarantee that this smoothie recipe will fill up more than a piece of banana bread. If you are a fan of banana bread, you should definitely try my Banana Bread Smoothie.
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Makes one serving. Enjoy!
